Omaha R found their leader in underclassman Stephen Vankat, who scored 23 points along with eight steals. Jack Vankat was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Omaha R's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Varsity Opponent, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 28 of their last 32 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 358-1290-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Omaha R won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the at 9:45 a.m. on February 3rd. Varsity Opponent is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for they, they will be playing at home against Tri-Cities Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
