The Cornerstone Christian Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Bishop Gorman on the road and fell 81-23. While losing is never fun, Cornerstone Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1603rd, while Bishop Gorman is ranked 515th).
Leading Bishop Gorman to victory were Carlin Ifeadi and Ryan Richbourg. Ifeadi scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Richbourg scored 16 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Ifeadi grabbed two or more steals. David Phillips was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals and two blocks.
Cornerstone Christian Academy bumped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bishop Gorman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.
Cornerstone Christian Academy will be playing at home against Coram Deo Academy on Friday. As for Bishop Gorman, they will head out on the road to square off against Lakehill Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
