Research Triangle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Franklin Academy Patriots at home by a 49-32 margin. One positive for the Raptors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Franklin Academy found their leader in freshman Bella DeLiso, who went 7 for 12 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave DeLiso a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Brown, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.
Research Triangle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Franklin Academy, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Research Triangle will head out to take on East Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Wake Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
