The Westwood Longhorns had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Booker T. Washington by a score of 22-14 on Thursday. The win was just what Westwood needed coming off of a 56-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Westwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Irvin, who rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 159 yards and a touchdown. Dvan Scott also helped out with an impressive 113 receiving yards.
Westwood's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Booker T. Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Westwood is on the road again on Friday and play against Union County. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Union County is ranked 298th, while Westwood is ranked 315th). Booker T. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
