The Aurora Central Trojans suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by George Washington at home and fell 82-42. It was the first time this season that Aurora Central let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Aurora Central still got an impressive performance from Camron Crisp, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Rumbek Augustino, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
George Washington found their leader in underclassman Jeremiah Trimm, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Trimm hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Jordan Dotson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Aurora Central's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-6. As for George Washington, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Aurora Central and Adams City will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Adams City is ranked 195th, while Aurora Central is ranked 174th). George Washington's road trip will continue as they head out to face Overland at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in Overland's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
