With a playoff game on the line, the Heritage Hurricanes rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 44-14 victory over Grafton. Heritage might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matches by 21 points or more this season.
Heritage was led to victory by Tyree Wilson and Derrick Gurley jr. Wilson rushed for 41 yards and three touchdowns, while Gurley jr rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
The win (which was Heritage's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.2 points per game. As for Grafton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Heritage will head out on the road to face off against Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Hopewell is ranked 74th, while Heritage is ranked 63rd). Grafton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
