Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman posted their closest victory since May 6, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Trabuco Hills 3-2.
GIANNA HORNYAK spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, SAMANTHA LEFEVER was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and two runs. Another player making a difference was SOPHIA KIRKPATRICK, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Green Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bishop Gorman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Green Valley might still be hurting after the 10-4 loss they got from Bishop Gorman in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
