Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Holcomb Longhorns, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Cheney on Friday, falling 37-8. Holcomb's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Korbin Johnson picked up eight receiving yards. Braydon Bastin was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Damon Mesa rushed for 149 yards.
Holcomb's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Cheney, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Holcomb does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cheney will square off against Clay Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clay Center is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
