Considering the Stallions have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Alyssa Steele made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three home runs while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Harmony Hernandez and Nicole Strickland-Mitchell did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Strickland-Mitchell fired off two home runs and four runs while going 4-for-4. Strickland-Mitchell is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Schott, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Queen's Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Queen's Grant pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Monroe has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Queen's Grant struggles in that department as they've averaged .639. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
