The Clark Chargers will square off against the Chaparral Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Thursday, Clark came up short against Spring Valley and fell 3-1. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Clark was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Spring Valley work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 19-25, 26-24, 25-22.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Theodore Birdsong, who had three aces and one block. Another player making a difference was Michael Chung, who had 13 kills and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Chaparral got the win against Amplus Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cowboys.
While Chaparral won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.
Clark better focus on containing Liam Bade and Jordan Pierce as the pair were huge in Chaparral's win. Bade had ten kills and two blocks, while Pierce had 14 kills, six digs, and two aces. Pierce has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 57 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Cunanan, who had nine digs and four aces.
They weren't the only good server: Chaparral was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are 8-4 when they serve at least ten aces.
The win got Chaparral back to even at 15-15. As for Clark, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
