If the Electra Tigers were feeling good off their 54-21 takedown of the Northside Indians last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Electra was dealt a 79-45 defeat at the hands of Benjamin on Tuesday. Electra was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.
Grayson Rigdon was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 42 points and 11 rebounds for Benjamin. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Rigdon has scored at least 25% of Benjamin's points. Another player making a difference was Keegan Hayes, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Electra's defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Benjamin, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Electra will head out on the road to face off against Chillicothe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chillicothe has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Benjamin, they will be playing at home against Northside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1662nd, while Benjamin is ranked 256th).
