It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Southwest Patriots can now relate to. They were dealt a 64-6 defeat at the hands of Toombs County on Saturday. The low total for Southwest limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Chase Dupree threw for 205 yards and a touchdown. Dejuandre Riggins was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards.
Dabvn Wadley was on fire for Toombs County: he rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Toombs County also got help from Keshon Deloach who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Toombs County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Toombs County will head out on the road to face off against Thomson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
