Bishop Timon-St. Jude smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Canisius faced St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. Canisius fell 55-48 to St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute.
Defeat or not, Canisius got some senior leadership from Patrick Enright and Nicholas Purdie. Enright earned eight points and 14 rebounds, while Purdie put up 15 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Enright a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Cullinan, who had seven points.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points over those games. Canisius' loss dropped their record down to 20-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bishop Timon-St. Jude has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Canisius struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude ended up a good deal behind Canisius in their previous matchup on February 7th, losing 76-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Purdie, who went 15-for-23 on his way to 38 points.
