Kendrick is on an 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Potlatch is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will welcome the Loggers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kendrick 2.9, Potlatch 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Monday, Kendrick made easy work of Genesee and carried off a 15-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Xavier Carpenter, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ralli Roetcisoender, who went 1-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kendrick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Genesee only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Potlatch ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Troy 4-3. The Loggers haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Logan Carpenter spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mason Woolverton was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jay Marshall, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Potlatch's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Kendrick, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kendrick has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Potlatch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Kendrick suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Potlatch in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
