Faith Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 50-36 to Faith Baptist. Faith Christian has not had much luck with the recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Faith Christian saw an underclassman step up: Claire Coplen scored 20 points. Coplen continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chasely Laethem, who scored ten points.
Amy Ahrens continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Faith Baptist, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Ahrens is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Burton, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Faith Christian dropped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Faith Baptist, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Faith Christian will head out on the road to take on the at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Faith Baptist is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in Michigan (the are ranked 138th, while the are ranked 665th).
