The San Perlita Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Grulla by a score of 41-38. San Perlita was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grulla apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Marbella Orduno, who scored 14 points along with 9 steals and 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ailani Lopez, who scored 14 points along with 9 steals and 8 rebounds.
San Perlita's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Grulla, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
San Perlita will square off against Harvest Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harvest Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 games -- so hopefully San Perlita likes a good challenge. As for Grulla, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mission Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m.
