With a playoff win on the line, Andover rose to the challenge on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-60 win over the Bonner Springs Braves. The Trojans are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight.
Joshua Kim was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-11 en route to 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. That's the most boards he has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Walker McClellan, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Andover was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonner Springs only eight assists.
When it comes to explaining why Bonner Springs lost, don't look at Kelan Gruver. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-16 on his way to 28 points. The contest was Gruver's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Jones, who shot 42% from the field en route to 13 points and five boards.
Andover's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Bonner Springs, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 18-5 record.
Andover has already played their next game, a 55-43 loss against Kapaun Mt. Carmel on the 14th. Bonner Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
