The Spoto Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Tampa Bay Tech Titans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Spoto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Spoto will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Freedom on Thursday. The Spartans blew past the Patriots 16-5. Considering the Spartans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Lena Murphy made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Murphy was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Keira Mitchell was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chanel Williams, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Tech lost 18-4 to Gaither last Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost eight in a row.
Tampa Bay Tech saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Janyyah W, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Jaida T was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Spoto's record now sits at 5-6. As for Tampa Bay Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Spoto has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tampa Bay Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Spoto skirted past Tampa Bay Tech 14-12 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
