The Attica Red Ramblers will head out to challenge the Fountain Central Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Attica is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Attica turned things around against North Vermillion on Saturday. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Falcons. The game was the first time the Red Ramblers have beaten the Falcons on their field since May 1, 2021.

Karsyn Lovell-Ramey was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Attica is 2-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-7 otherwise. Lovell-Ramey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Attica got a massive performance out of Blake Inman, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Inman has posted since back in April. Luke Blankenship was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Attica kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Vermillion only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Fountain Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Lebanon. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since April 21st.
Fountain Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Attica, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-7-1.
Attica might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Fountain Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Red Ramblers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
