De Anza recap November 13, 2013
Big Bear extended the longest winning streak in De Anza this week by beating Desert Mirage, 63-21. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Twentynine Palms scaled the state rankings by moving to 746 from 792 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to move up by besting Yucca Valley 21-0.
Desert Mirage's dynamic duo of Felipe Leon and Rigo Guzman proved to be unstoppable against Dave Griffiths' team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Leon threw for 89 yards and 1 touchdown and Guzman had 56 yards receiving. Octavio Melendrez helped Desert Mirage's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 41 yards.
Cody Hall was a passing and rushing force as Twentynine Palms topped the Trojans.
Yucca Valley's Bradley Soares and Logan Vallo led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-7 quarterback Soares has thrown for 1,522 yards this season, while Vallo has 37 catches for 637 yards. T Armstrong from Desert Hot Springs leads the league in rushing with 1,022 yards.
Jeffrey Tebelak's team fell to Big Bear 63-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tony DeLara was a bright spot for Desert Mirage, as he ran for 105 yards in the defeat.
