3A District 4 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Ruidoso extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 4 this week by beating Hatch Valley, 48-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Ruidoso took down the Bears 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bryce Pompos threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 102 yards in the win.
Kief Johnson's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Devon Carr chipped in 109 yards. Parker Johnson helped Ruidoso's passing attack out by catching three balls for 72 yards.
Ismail LaPaz was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors topped Hatch Valley. LaPaz tallied five receptions for 83 yards.
Ruidoso's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pompos has thrown for 677 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Johnson has 25 catches for 462 yards. Pompos also leads the league in rushing with 462 yards.
Ruidoso led 3A District 4 in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Jack Cisco's team. Pompos in the win.
