Greater Sacramento League Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Thursday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Aubrey Stewart Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Thursday, Fairfield got the W thanks in part to Aubrey Stewart playing the best football she has all season. Stewart rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes. The performance marked the most rushing yards she has had since back in September. She has become a key player for Fairfield: the team is undefeated when she posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise.
Burbank had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Stewart it was a similar story. When Stewart last faced the Titans back in September, she rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns.

Sariah Williams Goes Supernova in Fairfield Victory
Sariah Williams was instrumental in extending Fairfield's winning streak to eight on Thursday. Williams was dynamite, rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also picking up 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Her longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per carry total.
If history really does repeat itself, Williams might just drop another big game when she faces off against Johnson on Thursday. Williams rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries the last time she and the Warriors duked it out back in September.

Jaleia Ware Puts an End to Armijo's Losing Streak on Thursday
Jaleia Ware helped snap Armijo's three-game losing streak. Florin had no answer to Ware on Thursday as she picked up 107 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Ware also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions which she returned for a touchdown.
The win got Armijo back to even at 7-7. Ware and Armijo will face off against West Campus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Deyonce Espinal stepped things up a notch to give Valley the 'W'. Espinal was dynamite, making two total tackles and defending two passes. She also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Valley is 3-1 when she posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 5-6 otherwise.
Espinal must have West Campus's number; she was a force to be reckoned with the last time she faced them too. Back in September (the last time Espinal saw the Warriors), she made a tackle and snagged four interceptions.
