The Bellows Free Academy Bullets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight defeat. The match between them and Williamstown wasn't particularly close, with Bellows Free Academy falling 54-37. Bellows Free Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Evan Bailey was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven steals for Williamstown. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bailey has scored at least a third of Williamstown's points. Colby Laggner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 15 rebounds.
Bellows Free Academy dropped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Williamstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellows Free Academy will take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Vermont (Winooski is ranked 23rd, while the Bullets are ranked 43rd). As for Williamstown, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Craftsbury Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
