Baseball Game Preview: Rochester Rams vs. St. Joseph Spartans

For the second straight game, Rochester will face off against St. Joseph. The Rams will host the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rochester barely beat St. Joseph the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams blew past the Spartans 11-2 on Tuesday.

Justin Schurr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Rochester is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Logan Lyons was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Rochester is undefeated when Lyons posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Keegan Currie, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Rochester's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for St. Joseph, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
