Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Grove Saints vs. North Clayton Eagles

The Cedar Grove Saints will square off against the North Clayton Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Cedar Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Stone Mountain 95-35 on Tuesday. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Cedar Grove got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emanuel Green out in front who posted 22 points. Green's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Javonte Floyd was another key player, putting up 19 points.

North Clayton played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They managed a 61-56 win over Stephenson.

North Clayton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Cedar Grove, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
