Crest dropped their record down to 13-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 7-3 to the Central Heights Vikings. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Central Heights, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

For Central Heights' part, Kreig Garrett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Garrett has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Kraft, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

While Crest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
