After flying high against the Patterson Clippers last Wednesday, the City College Black Knights came back down to earth. City College was beaten by Poly 75-15 on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points City College has scored all season.
Poly found their leader in underclassman London Elliot, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sierra Georges, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
City College's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Poly, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. City College will face off against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Poly, they will head out on the road to square off against Mergenthaler Vo-Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Mergenthaler Vo-Tech: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Poly has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
