The Sandy Valley Sidewinders were the 1-0 winner over the Spring Mountain Eagles when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Sandy Valley took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Mountain.
Defeat or not, Sandy Valley got some senior leadership from Tage Colon who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and Damion Turner who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds. Colon scored a full 35.4% of Sandy Valley's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phaethon Pena, who scored 4 points.
Sandy Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Spring Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandy Valley will challenge Baker at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Spring Mountain is on the road again on Saturday and play against Beaver Dam at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th.
