There's no place like home for the Horton Chargers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Pleasant Ridge 46-29 on Friday. Given Horton's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Pleasant Ridge is ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brady Mance and Wyatt Gwartney certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Mance scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks, while Gwartney scored six points. Mance hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games.
Horton's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Pleasant Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
Horton will head out on the road to challenge Jackson Heights on Tuesday. As for Pleasant Ridge, they will be playing at home against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
