Having just played yesterday, the Swainsboro Tigers will get right back to it and host the Treutlen Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Saturday.
On Friday, Swainsboro took their match at home with ease, bagging a 81-17 victory over the Warriors. With Swainsboro ahead 55-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Tanyia Williams was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Howard, who scored 25 points.
Meanwhile, Treutlen entered their tilt with the Red Devils with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Treutlen blew past the Red Devils 63-36 at home on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Treutlen has won by exactly 27 points.
Swainsboro is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Treutlen, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Swainsboro against the Vikings when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 73-39 victory. Will Swainsboro repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
