Cohasset had lost nine games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 5-8 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Rockland Bulldogs. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Skippers this season.
Tucker Bliss was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Cohasset: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 2-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Cohasset got a massive performance out of Ian Konradt, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Konradt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Soderberg, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Cohasset always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockland only posted an OBP of .273.
As for Rockland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 10th.
On Rockland's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Rau, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
