Dawson-Bryant has gone a perfect 8-0 against Chesapeake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Hornets will host the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Dawson-Bryant will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Dawson-Bryant had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fairland on Monday. The Hornets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Dragons a 10-0 shutout. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Abbie Deeds made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izzy Kitts, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braelie Hitchcock, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Dawson-Bryant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairland only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Chesapeake lost 20-3 to Ironton on Monday.
Chesapeake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaydence Easthom, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Chesapeake has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Dawson-Bryant, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Chesapeake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dawson-Bryant hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. It's a different story for Chesapeake, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Dawson-Bryant's hitters?
