The Wesleyan Wolves waltzed into Friday's matchup with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Pickens 42-20. Wesleyan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 22 points or more this season.
Leading Wesleyan to victory were Jamie Tremble and Ben Brown. Tremble picked up 168 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Brown threw for 289 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes.
Pickens' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Streicher, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Mccord Purdy, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wesleyan pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points per game. As for Pickens, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Wesleyan will be playing at home against Ringgold at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ringgold will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Pickens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
