The Ray Bearcats are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Anthem Prep Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Ray picked up another tournament win on Friday. They came out on top against ALA - Anthem South by a score of 14-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

Julissa Garcia and Kaylee Servant did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two doubles, while Servant scored four runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Servant a new career-high in runs. Josselyn Lechuga also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Ray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .612. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Anthem Prep had taken Salome down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. Anthem Prep fell just short of Salome by a score of 10-8. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.
Bailey McCabe put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Rhyan Cantelme made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Cantelme is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Madi Starr was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Ray now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Anthem Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ray hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .399. However, it's not like Anthem Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Ray's way against Anthem Prep in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Ray made off with an 18-3 win. Does Ray have another victory up their sleeve, or will Anthem Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
