Valley View hasn't had much luck against Mountain View recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cougars will challenge the Eagles at 5:00 p.m.
On Monday, Valley View came up short against North Pocono and fell 3-1.
Valley View started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Valley View got top-tier performance from Layla Marino, who had 12 digs, seven aces, and five kills. Marino has been hot, having posted three or more aces the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Evans, who had three digs, two blocks, and two aces.
Meanwhile, Mountain View had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Lakeland 3-2 on Wednesday.
Mountain View took Lakeland into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-19, 15-8.
Mountain View's win came from a few key players Valley View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Addison Kilmer, who had 18 kills, 15 digs, five blocks, and three aces. Those 15 digs gave her a new career-high. Aubrey Sanders was another key player, getting eight kills and five digs.
Valley View suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-7. As for Mountain View, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Valley View has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
