The Strom Thurmond Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Lincoln County Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Strom Thurmond will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Emerald on Friday. The Rebels put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 35-13 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Rebels just coasted through the last quarter.
The critical scores for Strom Thurmond came from Deonte Phillips, Shaheed Williams, Zy Rouse, and Jakari Gordon.
Strom Thurmond didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Emerald to a completion percentage of just 40.9%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from six players: Gregory Moore Jr, Mason Johnson, Williams, Kobe Windless, Jalin Collins, and Rashaad Mathis, who each logged one passes deflected. Strom Thurmond wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Strom Thurmond's defense didn't let Beau Hite., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Emerald's QB won't forget Grayson Smith anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Smith also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 48-14 win over Silver Bluff. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
Lincoln County's win came from a few key players Strom Thurmond will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mekhi Wade, who rushed for 50 yards and one score. Kelby Glaze was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and one TD on only ten carries.
Strom Thurmond's record is now 3-1. As for Lincoln County, their record now sits at 5-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Strom Thurmond has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 164.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lincoln County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 195.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
