Vallivue hasn't had much luck against Middleton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Falcons will face off against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Vallivue not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 10, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Caldwell. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.
The win didn't come easy: Caldwell scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.
Vallivue's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sophia Kassotis, who had 11 digs and three aces, and Avery Daniel, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Kassotis has posted since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: Vallivue was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Middleton made easy work of Bishop Kelly on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
While Middleton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 29-27.
The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-17. As for Middleton, their record now sits at 20-9.
Vallivue suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Middleton in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
