Colleton County took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hanahan. That's two games in a row now that Colleton County has lost by exactly five points.
Despite the defeat, Colleton County had strong showings from Heaven Green, who scored 11 points along with six steals, and Akeelyah Daniel, who scored ten points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daniel has scored all season.
Colleton County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hanahan pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Hanahan's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camdyn Lawson, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of N'khia Hagood, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Colleton County are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11. As for Hanahan, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colleton County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on May River at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. May River presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Colleton County in South Carolina (May River is ranked 95th, while Colleton County is ranked 216th). As for Hanahan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Taja Porcher and Jaylah Hughes.
