Woodford County has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Larue County has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. Woodford County will welcome Larue County at 9:00 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodford County 3.3, Larue County 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
If Woodford County beats Larue County with six runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Woodford County came out on top in a nail-biter against Seymour on Monday, sneaking past 6-4.
Justus Wertzler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Heim, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Burton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Woodford County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Larue County). They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over Bardstown on Thursday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Brady Abell made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Abell was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Larue County got a massive performance out of Lucas Thompson, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Dekker Thomas was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Woodford County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Larue County's win bumped their record up to 6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Woodford County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Larue County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
