Basketball Recap: Classical Prep's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Classical Prep lost to Families Instructing Students HomeSchool back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Classical Prep Lions rang in the new year with a 47-35 victory over the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks. The win was familiar territory for the Lions who have now won three matchups in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Families Instructing Students HomeSchool lost, don't look at Melody Lee. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Lee also grabbed eight steals, which is notable because Families Instructing Students HomeSchool is 4-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Julianna Lamon, who went 6 of 15 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Classical Prep's record is now 5-6. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Classical Prep will head out to square off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they will face off against Winter Haven Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th.
