Baseball Recap: Sunray Wins Going Away Against Tulia

Sunray won the last time they faced Tulia and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sunray Bobcats blew past the Tulia Hornets 8-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Azriel Vargas made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Vargas was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Sunray was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tulia only posted a batting average of .238.

Sunray now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tulia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
