The West Washington Senators and the Borden Braves squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the West Washington Senators had to settle for second. They received a tough blow as they fell 69-51 to the Braves. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Washington in their matchups with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, West Washington saw an underclassman step up: Jayla Batt scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Ava Woods was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
West Washington's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Borden, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.
West Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Borden won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Lanesville is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road.
