The HA Prep Academy Kings will head out on the road to challenge the Comenius Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. HA Prep Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
HA Prep Academy pushed their score all the way to 59 back in December of 2023, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Life Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, HA Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 475th in North Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 216th in Virginia).
Meanwhile, Comenius pushed their score all the way to 68 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of New Hope Leadership Academy by a score of 70-68. Comenius' loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
HA Prep Academy's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Comenius, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.
HA Prep Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, sneaking past 72-69. Will HA Prep Academy repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
