The Tupper Lake Lumberjacks will head out on the road to face off against the Edwards-Knox Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Tupper Lake has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 660 points over their last nine contests.
Tupper Lake put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Chateaugay at home to the tune of 73-38. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Tupper Lake had established a 32 point advantage.
Tupper Lake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Corneau, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Thomas Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Edwards-Knox's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 55-39 bruising from Hermon-DeKalb Central.
Tupper Lake's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Edwards-Knox, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Tupper Lake against the Cougars in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 78-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tupper Lake since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
