The Lummi Blackhawks had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 63-36 loss at the hands of LaConner.
Among those leading the charge was Kim Williams, who scored 26 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Maeve Mccormick, who scored 16 points.
Lummi's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for LaConner, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lummi will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tulalip Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for LaConner, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Baker at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
