Forbes Road is 2-8 against Southern Fulton since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Forbes Road will welcome Southern Fulton at 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Forbes Road's offense. They lost 10-0 to Everett on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, Forbes Road's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, Southern Fulton put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on North Star with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Indians have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooks Norris made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Norris was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Cam Cain looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Back at the plate, Southern Fulton got a massive performance out of Jett Burger, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Burger is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Joel Fitz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Southern Fulton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .720. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Southern Fulton's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Forbes Road, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Forbes Road suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Southern Fulton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Forbes Road avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
