 Overton's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Eli Luther, who threw for 301 yards and three  touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 40 yards and one  score. Another player making a difference was  Brock McCarter, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs.
Elgin/Pope John's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Overton, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record  this season.
 Elgin/Pope John does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Overton, they will take on Howells-Dodge on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 31  points  in their last seven games.
