After flying high against the Banks Academy Jets last Thursday, the Evangel Christian Lightning came back down to earth. Evangel Christian fell just short of Banks Academy by a score of 45-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Evangel Christian has scored all season.
Evangel Christian lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hayden Black, who scored 13 points. Clay Stanton was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Evangel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Banks Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Evangel Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Jose Giron and Owen Bugnar. As for Banks Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th.
