Sweetwater is 7-2 against Montgomery since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. Sweetwater will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Sweetwater can't be too worried about heading out to take on Montgomery: they just beat Mater Dei Catholic at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Red Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Crusaders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since April 4th.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (102-97) Sweetwater actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 16-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-6.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sweetwater to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darren Hermoso, who had 13 digs and eight kills. Hermoso is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Montgomery not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th (when they won 3-0). They blew past Mar Vista 3-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Aztecs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Sweetwater better focus on containing Santiago Antuna and Ryken Lusby as the pair were huge in Montgomery's win. Antuna had 15 digs, while Lusby had ten digs and one assist. That's the most digs Lusby has posted over his last five matchups.
Montgomery's record is now 12-13. As for Sweetwater, they pushed their record up to 23-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Sweetwater was able to grind out a solid win over Montgomery in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
