Badger is 9-1 against Mathews since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Badger Braves will look to defend their home court against the Mathews Mustangs at 6:45 p.m. Badger will be looking to keep their 17-game home win streak alive.
Badger posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Windham and snuck past 42-40. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Badger has scored all season.
Badger had a senior duo take command as Katie Grexa dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds and Brianna Huscroft scored 11 points along with four steals. Grexa is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Gabriella Miller was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Mathews' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 61-14 defeat at the hands of Lakeview. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Mathews has suffered since December 11, 2023.
Badger's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Mathews, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
